LOCATION

Brgy. Aijis Bacolod City

The clock struck four, and the campus began to settle into the rhythm of late afternoon. CHMSU Alijis was alive, not with the hurried energy of the morning, but with a serene, almost poetic atmosphere—a perfect setting for candid photography.

The sprawling grounds basked in the warm glow of the sun, its rays spilling through the canopy of acacia trees that lined the walkways. Students lingered on benches, unaware of how picturesque they looked: one flipping through the pages of a worn-out novel, another gazing dreamily at the sky, earphones in. A candid photographer couldn’t ask for better subjects, their unposed moments brimming with authenticity.

Near the garden, a group of friends was huddled together, their silhouettes softened by the amber sunlight. They shared stories over iced coffee, their laughter frozen mid-air in a single shutter click. The faint cheers from a basketball court echoed in the distance, where players leapt and lunged, each movement an opportunity to capture the raw energy of youth.

The scent of freshly cut grass mingled with the aroma of snacks wafting from a nearby food stall. Vendors leaned over their carts, their hands busy but faces expressive—smiles, quick exchanges, and the occasional furrowed brow of concentration. These fleeting moments, unnoticed by most, were treasures for anyone keen on candid photography.

By the pond, a couple sat close, their faces softened by the fiery hues of the sunset reflected in the still water. Unaware of the world around them, they made for a perfect frame, their quiet connection glowing under the golden sky. Nearby, a student with a camera in hand crouched low, finding the perfect angle to immortalize the scenery in its most genuine form.

As the day drew closer to its end, the campus transformed into a canvas of shadow and light, patterns playing on the ground. Each step revealed a new story: the determined stride of a student with a backpack slung over one shoulder, the contemplative gaze of another seated by the flagpole, watching the sky turn into a masterpiece of oranges, pinks, and purples.

For a candid photographer, CHMSU Alijis in the late afternoon was more than a university—it was a living gallery, where the beauty of the mundane shone in every corner, waiting to be captured.
